POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - After leading the Marist women's cross country team to a second-place finish at the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday, sophomore Addie DiFrancesco (Waterbury, Conn.) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Monday. She is the second Marist women's runner to earn the honor as senior Brittany Burns (Watertown, N.Y.) was named Runner of the Week on Sept. 21.

DiFrancesco finished sixth overall in the women's 5K race at the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday, leading Marist to a second-place team finish out of 24 teams. The sophomore ran a time of 17:56.9, the second-fastest 5K cross country time in program history.

The Marist men's and women's cross country teams will next compete at the 2009 MAAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, held on October 30 at Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale, New York.
