BETHLEHEM, PA. - Senior Brittany Burns (Watertown, N.Y.) ran a school record 21:30 over the 6K course at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh Friday, leading the Marist women's cross country team to a 22nd place finish. Burns placed 47th overall. The Red Foxes had their top three finishers place within the first 75 runners for the first time in program history at the meet.

Sophomore Addie DiFrancesco (Waterbury, Conn.) finished in 55th place, running a time of 21:36. Classmate Kathryn Sheehan (Wading River, N.Y.) placed 72nd overall with a time of 21:43. Freshman Katie Messina (Queensbury, N.Y.) ran a time of 22:44, and Erin O'Reilly (East Patchogue, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring pack with a time of 23:02. The Red Foxes had 577 points in the meet, finishing five points behind St. Lawrence University which finished 21st overall. West Virginia won the meet with 105 points.

Marist will next race on Oct.17th at the UAlbany Invitational.
