Marist Volleyball Camp Photos - 8/18

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist volleyball team wrapped up its first week of preseason camp on Wednesday. The Red Foxes open the 2009 season one week from Friday at the Staybridge Suites Rocket Classic in Toledo, Ohio against Kennesaw State.

Head Coach Tom Hanna has nine players returning from last season's squad that went 14-17 on the year and 9-9 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Marist's 9-9 mark in conference was its highest since 2006.

"I really like our progress," said Hanna, commenting on the first week of practice. "We are farther ahead at this point than last year, mainly because we have nine players returning and 10 who have played at least a year of college volleyball."

Marist will play in the first of its three in-season tournaments starting Friday, Aug. 28 against Kennesaw State at 5 p.m. at the University of Toledo. The Red Foxes will host "Volley in the Valley" at the McCann Center on Sept. 5 and 6 and will also play a tournament at Columbia University in New York City.
