POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist women's tennis team hosted Hofstra for Senior Day on Tuesday at the East Campus Tennis Pavilion. The Red Foxes dropped a 4-1 decision with the Red Foxes lone singles win coming from freshman Erin McCarthy (Salem, N.J.).

McCarthy won the first set from opponent Lauren Clifton 6-3. In the second set, McCarthy had a 2-0 lead before injury forced Clifton to retire.

Senior Mirelva Colon (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) won her final match at home on Tuesday as she teamed with McCarthy at first doubles. They were able to hold on to defeat Clifton and Stacey Kent, 8-6. A default at third doubles gave the Red Foxes the doubles point.

Marist has one final tune up match before the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament. On Wednesday, the Red Foxes will travel to Hartford for a make-up match with the Hawks.
