POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-- On Friday afternoon, the Marist swimming and diving program announced the early signing of Leanna Brittis. Brittis, a Hilton Head, South Carolina native, will join the Red Foxes in the fall of '08.

The Savannah Swim Team and Hilton Head High School senior was named Georgia All-State in '04, '05, '06, and '07. She was also a Speedo Senior Sectional Qualifier during those same years, and was named All-State in South Carolina in the 200 yard butterfly.

She recently competed in the Minnesota/Toyota Grand Prix where she finished 21st in the 1000 yard freestyle and 23rd in 200 yard backstroke.

Brittis is a member of the National Honor Society, the International Baccalaureate Program, and is currently ranked 22nd of 270 in her class. She plans on majoring in Journalism during her time at Marist.
