POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist Department of Athletics released the 2009 men's and women's cross country schedules on Monday afternoon. The Red Foxes will run in seven meets in 2009, starting with a meet at Bowdoin Park in Poughkeepsie on Saturday, September 5. Marist will host Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schools Rider and Saint Peter's as well as New York University and Manhattanville for the season-opening meet.

On Sunday, September 20 the Red Foxes will travel to Boston for the Boston University Invitational. Marist will then participate in the Paul Short Run at Lehigh on October 2. On October 17, the men's varsity team and selected women's runners will run in the NCAA Pre-Nationals at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind. The rest of the team will participate at the Albany Invitational the same day. The 2009 MAAC Cross Country Championships will be held on Friday, October 30 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. Last season the men's team finished second to Iona while the women finished third.

The Red Foxes will follow up the MAAC Championships with the NCAA Regionals at Franklin Park in Boston on November 14. Marist will wrap up the 2009 season on November 21 at the IC4A/ECAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park.
