LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Four members of the Marist men's track team placed in the top six of the 10,000-meter run on the first day of the 2009 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Rider University. The Marist quartet was led by sophomore Timothy Keegan (Huntington, N.Y.), who placed second in a time of 31:23.68.

Senior David Raucci (Clermont, N.Y.) took third in a time of 31:31.75. Following him were senior Joseph McElhoney (Beacon, N.Y.), who took fifth in 32:52.19 and senior Alex Emerel, who finished sixth in 33:09.23.

The Red Foxes received a pair of scoring performances in the 3,000-meter steeplechase from sophomore Nick Webster (Latham, N.Y.) and freshman Matthew Flint (Queensbury, N.Y.), who took fourth and fifth place, respectively. Webster clocked in at 9:22.77, while Flint finished in 9:39.21.

Tom DeVaney placed sixth in the javelin at 45.1 meters.

As a team, the Red Foxes are in third place overall with 24 points. Manhattan leads the pack at 65.

The MAAC Championships will conclude on Sunday.
