WORCESTER, Mass.- Following two New York State Championships last weekend, the Marist men's crew squad traveled to Worcester, Mass. to compete in the ECAC Championships. The Red Foxes competed against 22 crews at the regatta and had strong showings in the varsity 8 and the varsity 4.

The men's varsity 8, who won the Scott Sanford Trophy last weekend for the third straight year, finished second in their heat behind Orange Coast and ahead of Bates and Coast Guard to advance to the semifinals. In the semis, they finished third behind Trinity and Michigan but did advance to the final. In the final they finished fifth with a time of 6:09. Trinity won with a time of 5:52.

The men's freshman 8 reached the petite final where they finished second behind UCSD. They beat Ithaca, Coast Guard, UVM, and Hobart with a time of 6:29.

The varsity 4 squad that also won a state championship last weekend answered the bell by winning their heat over UVA and reaching the grand final.
