POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Marist graduate Jared Jordan has signed with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League. The Vipers are affiliates of both the NBA's Houston Rockets and New Orleans Hornets. Jordan played for the Hornets this past preseason.

Jordan was in uniform for the Vipers in their Thursday game against the Tulsa 66ers. He played 17 minutes, finishing with two assists and one rebound in Rio Grande Valley's 89-80 victory.

Jordan was selected the 45th overall pick of the 2007 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. In September of 2007, his rights were drafted from the Clippers to the New York Knicks. After playing for the Knicks in the 2007 preseason, Jordan spent last season competing for Lietuvos Rytas in Lithuania. He played for the Phoenix Suns' summer league team before going to training camp with the Hornets this past fall.

In his career at Marist, Jordan led the nation in assists in both his junior and senior seasons. He is the program's all-time assists leader with 813, and helped lead the Red Foxes to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season title, a victory in the Postseason NIT and a program-record 25 victories in the 2006-07 campaign.
