TIP-OFF: The Red Foxes return home to face Rider in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest at the McCann Center. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

ON THE AIR: Today's game will be broadcast live on WKIP (1450 AM) in Poughkeepsie, with Ed Weir on play-by-play and Jim Woods doing color. The broadcast will also be available online at GoRedFoxes.com free of charge through Stretch Internet, with the pregame show starting at 7 p.m. The game will air live on Time Warner Cable 6, with Tony Morino on play-by-play, Steve Eggink on color and Allison Burke reporting from the sideline.

LAST TIME OUT: Marist dropped its seventh straight, 66-65 in overtime at Iona on Feb. 7. Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider led Marist with 21 points and 11 rebounds

HISTORY LESSON: Marist and Rider joined the MAAC together for the 1997-98 season. The Red Foxes are 12-13 against the Broncs, who have won the last three in the series.

WHEN WE LAST MET: Marist was unable to recover from an 18-point halftime deficit in a 76-65 loss at Rider on Jan. 4. Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider scored a game-high 25 points.

UP NEXT: Marist hosts Fairfield on Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The teams met previously on Jan. 30, with the Stags earning a 68-63 triumph at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Conn.

LINEUPS: Marist has used seven different starting lineups this season, including four in the last five games. Nine different Red Foxes have started this season, and red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider is the only one to start all 25 games.

CHASING 1,000: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider enters tonight's game with 894 career points. The Red Foxes are guaranteed seven more games this season, and Schneider would have to average 15.1 points per game in them to reach 1,000. Schneider, who is currently averaging 16.7 points per game, entered this season with 477 career points.

STUFFING THE MAAC LEADERBOARD: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider ranks in the top 10 in the MAAC in defensive rebounds per game (1st, 7.4), minutes per game (1st, 38.0), total rebounds per game (2nd, 8.8), three-pointers made (2nd, 2.7), free-throw percentage (2nd, .861), scoring (3rd, 16.7), three-point percentage (9th, .382) and blocked shots (T-10th, 0.9).

STUFFING THE STAT SHEET, PART ONE: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider is leading the Red Foxes in both scoring and rebounding this season (16.7 points, 8.8 rebounds per game). He has 23 double-digit scoring efforts, and in the two games he did not score in double digits, he had a double-digit rebounding effort. His 12 rebounds against New Hampshire on Nov. 29 tied a career high previously set at Rutgers in the season opener on Nov. 14. He has all five of Marist's double-doubles this season.

STUFFING THE STAT SHEET, PART TWO: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider also leads the Red Foxes in steals (32), three-pointers made (68), minutes played (38.0 per game), free throws made (93), free throws attempted (108), free-throw percentage (.861) and blocked shots (22). He is the only Red Fox to make a three-pointer in every game this season, and is shooting .382 from long distance.

DO I HEAR 40?: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider has played at least 40 minutes seven times in the team's last 12 games, and eight times overall this season. Schneider has played at least 33 minutes in every game this season.

BOOK HIM FOR AT LEAST 10: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider has scored in double digits in 20 consecutive games.

TOP 10 LIST: Marist has three of the top 10 three-point shooters by percentage in the MAAC with freshman guard R.J Hall (5th, .397), red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider (9th, .382) and red-shirt sophomore guard Dejuan Goodwin (10th, .376).

BAUER PROVIDES BOOST: In his four games as a starter, sophomore forward Korey Bauer is averaging 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting .571 (16-for-28) from the field. Bauer had a career-high eight rebounds at Fairfield on Jan. 30.

LONG-RANGE SWOON: Marist has shot just .288 (30-for-104) from three-point range in its last five games. In their eight previous games, the Red Foxes shot at least 40 percent from three-point range in each one. In that span, Marist shot .475 (75-for-158) on three-pointers.

BATTLE OF THE BOARDS: Marist is 4-4 when outrebounding the opposition this season, but 3-14 when getting outrebounded.

NEED THOSE FREE THROWS: Marist is 5-2 this season when hitting more free throws than its opponent, but 2-16 when the opposition hits as many or more free throws in a game.

R.J. FROM DEEP: Freshman guard R.J. Hall is fourth in the MAAC in three-point percentage at .424, and is shooting .500 (14-for-28) from three-point range in his last 10 games.

SCORING LIMIT = 70: Marist is 7-7 this season when holding the opponent under 70 points, but 0-11 if the opponent scores at least 70.

DEFENDING THE THREE: In its wins this season, Marist has allowed the opposition to shoot .230 from three-point range and hit 4.1 threes per game. In the Red Foxes' losses, the opposition is shooting .387 from long range with 5.2 made threes per game.

CLOSE ONES: Thirteen of Marist's 25 games this season have been decided by six points or less. The Red Foxes are 4-9 in those games. Marist has also played six games decided by two points or less, and the Red Foxes are 2-4 in those contests.

50 PERCENT SHOOTING LEADS TO VICTORIES: In four of Marist's seven victories this season, the Red Foxes have shot at least 50 percent from the field. Marist has shot .477 from the field in its wins, as compared to .390 in its losses.

LESS THAN 40% FOR THE OPPOSITION = W: In five of the Red Foxes' seven victories this season, the opponent has shot less than 40 percent from the field. In the team's wins, the opponent has shot .365. In the team's losses, the opponent has shot .446.

284 AND COUNTING: Marist has hit a three-pointer in 284 consecutive games. The last game in which Marist did not hit a three-pointer came on Dec. 7, 1999, when the Red Foxes shot 0-for-7 from three-point range in a 72-63 home win over American.

HALFTIME LEAD ESSENTIAL: Marist is 7-4 on the season when leading at halftime, but 0-14 when trailing or tied after the first 20 minutes.

DEJUAN CRASHES GLASS: Red-shirt sophomore guard Dejuan Goodwin has had at least five rebounds seven times this season. Last season, Goodwin's season high in rebounds was five, which came on two occasions. Against Cleveland State on Dec. 13, Goodwin set a career high with seven rebounds.

UNDER 60 IS A PLUS: Dating back to the 2003-04 season, Marist has won 26 of its last 27 when holding the opposition under 60 points.

HOLD THAT LEAD: Marist has lost five games this season in which it has held a double-digit lead.

OT: Over the last two seasons, Marist is 0-7 in overtime games. The Red Foxes have lost all four of their overtime contests this year, and went 0-3 in overtime games last season.

HOMECOURT ADVANTAGE: The Red Foxes have posted a mark of 36-13 (.735) at the McCann Center in the last four seasons. Since the installation of new bleachers in both the north and south end zones during the 2005-06 season, Marist has won 34 of its 44 home games, a winning percentage of .772.

ALL-TIME MAAC RECORD: Since joining the MAAC in the 1997-98 season, the Red Foxes have posted a 109-102 (.517) record in conference games.

SCHOLAR AND A GENTLEMAN: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider was named ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic All-District on Feb. 5. A communications/ sports communications major, Schneider is now eligible for Academic All-American honors, which will be released on Feb. 25.

500 BOARDS: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider grabbed the 500th rebound of his career on Feb. 2 vs. Manhattan.

END OF REBOUND STREAK: With sophomore forward Korey Bauer grabbing a team-high eight rebounds at Fairfield on Jan. 30, red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider had his streak of having at least a share of Marist's lead in rebounding in each of the team's previous 13 games come to an end. Schneider averaged 9.2 rebounds per game in that span.

KB'S FIRST START: Sophomore forward Korey Bauer made his first career start against Loyola on Jan. 25, finishing with 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks in a career-high 35 minutes.

MORE RUN FOR ALEX: Freshman forward Alex Vouyoukas scored a career-high seven points on 3-for-3 shooting from the field against Cleveland State in his first career start on Dec. 13. Against St. John's on Dec. 20, Vouyoukas had a career-high seven rebounds. He played a career-high 30 minutes at Manhattan on Jan. 9.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK X2: Freshman guard R.J. Hall was named MAAC Rookie of the Week on Jan. 5, the second straight week in which he was honored. Hall averaged 15.5 points per game against Binghamton (Dec. 30) and Rider (Jan. 4).

TRIPLE CROWN: On Jan. 4 at Rider, red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider became the first Red Fox to lead the team in points (25), rebounds (eight) and assists (four) in a game this season.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY: Between Dec. 20 and Jan. 4, Marist played seven games in 16 days. The Red Foxes played four games in eight days between Dec. 28 and Jan. 4.

RETURN OF DAVE: Red-shirt junior point guard David Devezin returned to the lineup on Dec. 30 at Binghamton after missing five games with a foot injury, finishing with eight points and eight assists. All eight of his assists were on three-pointers. Devezin returned to the starting lineup vs. Saint Peter's on Jan. 2, and also had eight assists in that game.

CUTTING THOSE TURNOVERS: Marist had just 11 turnovers at Binghamton on Dec. 30. Prior to that, the Red Foxes had at least 16 turnovers in nine consecutive games.

ANOTHER 20-POINT EFFORT: By scoring a career-high 20 points at Binghamton on Dec. 30, freshman guard R.J. Hall gave the Red Foxes a 20-point scorer in three straight games. Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider had 22 at Delaware on Dec. 23 and 29 vs. Bucknell on Dec. 28. Prior to that, Marist had only one 20-point effort this season, when red-shirt junior guard David Devezin had 21 vs. Delaware on Nov. 23.

FIRST HONORS SINCE ... : When red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider was named MAAC Player of the Week on Dec. 28, he became the first Red Fox to earn the honor since Spongy Benjamin on Nov. 12, 2007. With freshman guard R.J. Hall being named MAAC Rookie of the Week, it was the first time Marist swept the MAAC weekly awards also since Nov. 12, 2007, as Dejuan Goodwin was named MAAC Rookie of the Week at that time.

FOUR CAREER HIGHS: Four Red Foxes -- red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider (29), red-shirt sophomore guard Dejuan Goodwin (16), red-shirt junior guard Javon Parris (15) and walk-on freshman guard Mike Taylor (nine) had career highs in scoring against Bucknell on Dec. 28.

MOST POINTS SINCE ... : With 29 points vs. Bucknell on Dec. 28, red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider had the highest point total by a Red Fox since Will Whittington had 31 in Marist's Postseason NIT victory at Oklahoma State on March 13, 2007.

LARGEST MARGIN SINCE ... : Marist's 26-point win vs. Bucknell on Dec. 28 was its largest margin of victory since winning at Iona by 26 (79-53) on Feb. 11, 2007.

89: Marist's 89 points vs. Bucknell on Dec. 28 were the most the Red Foxes scored since also tallying 89 against Delaware on Nov. 11, 2007.

RECORD SETTING REBOUNDING: With 19 rebounds on Dec. 23 at Delaware, red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider set the Bob Carpenter Center record for most rebounds by a visiting player. The total of 19 rebounds is just three off the school record, and is the highest total by a Red Fox since Alan Tomidy set the program record with 22 against LIU on Feb. 8, 1996.

FIRST DOUBLE-DOUBLE SINCE ... : With 22 points and 19 rebounds at Delaware on Dec. 23, red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider recorded the first double-double by a Red Fox since Spongy Benjamin had 17 points and 13 rebounds against Loyola on March 2, 2008.

FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME: By facing Delaware on Nov. 23 and Dec. 23, Marist faced a non-conference opponent twice in the same season since the 1997-98 campaign, when the Red Foxes matched up with Colgate on Dec. 2 and Dec. 13 of 1997.

ON THE ROAD: With two games in the Aeropostale Holiday Festival (Dec. 20 and 21) at Madison Square Garden followed by a game at Delaware on Dec. 23, Marist played three straight games away from home. It is the only time all season the Red Foxes will play three straight games away from the McCann Center.

SCHNEIDER EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS: Marist red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Aeropostale Holiday Festival at Madison Square Garden after averaging 15 points and eight rebounds in the Red Foxes' games against St. John's and Columbia.

HOLIDAY FESTIVAL HISTORY: This year marked Marist's third appearance in the Holiday Festival. In addition to playing in it last season, the Red Foxes were part of the 1987 tournament. The Red Foxes are now 1-5 lifetime at the Holiday Festival following their losses to St. John's and Columbia on Dec. 20 and Dec. 21, respectively.

FRESHMEN GET FIRST STARTS: Freshman guard R.J. Hall and freshman forward Alex Vouyoukas each earned the first start of their careers against Cleveland State on Dec. 13.

TURNOVERS: Marist had a season-high 26 turnovers at Siena on Dec. 9.

100: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider played the 100th game of his collegiate career at Siena on Dec. 9. Schneider played the first 61 games of his career with Vermont from 2004-06 before transferring to Marist.

STOP AT 50: The 51-50 victory over Iona on Dec. 5 marked the ninth time Marist held a conference opponent to 50 points or fewer in a game since joining the MAAC for the 1997-98 season. The Red Foxes have prevailed in all nine of those games.

MAAC OPENERS: Since joining the MAAC for the 1997-98 season, Marist is now 10-2 in conference-opening games. The Red Foxes' only losses came in the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.

NUMBERS GAME: In its first five games of the season, Marist played two games decided by a score of 63-61. The Red Foxes lost by that score in their season opener at Rutgers on Nov. 14, and won by that score at home against New Hampshire on Nov. 29.

BIG DAY FOR KB: Sophomore forward Korey Bauer had the first double-digit scoring effort of his career vs. Delaware on Nov. 23, finishing with 13 points while tying his career high with six rebounds.

LB'S BIG NIGHTS: It took red-shirt sophomore forward Lawrence Williams just four games to top his total scoring output from the 2007-08 season. Williams scored 39 points in the first four games of the season. Last season, in 21 games, Williams scored a total of 35 points.

GARDEN STATE CHALLENGE: The Red Foxes completed play in the season-opening Garden State Challenge with a 1-3 record. St. Bonaventure and Rutgers each posted 3-1 records in the tournament. Delaware was 2-2, while both Marist and Robert Morris finished 1-3.

AND HE DID IT EARLY, TOO: Red-shirt sophomore forward Lawrence Williams scored eight of Marist's first 11 points on Nov. 14 at Rutgers. Williams had already established a new career high in scoring just 2:55 into the contest, as he had already scored six points at that juncture.

NEW OPENING LINEUP: The Red Foxes' starting lineup in their season opener at Rutgers on Nov. 14 included three players (Kaylen Gregory, Javon Parris and Lawrence Williams) who had never started a Division I game, and another (Ryan Schneider) who had never started a game for the Red Foxes. Red-shirt junior point guard David Devezin was the only starter who had previously started a game in a Marist uniform.

A SEESAW AFFAIR: Marist's season opener at Rutgers on Nov. 14 included 12 lead changes and seven tied scores.

FOR STARTERS: With its 63-61 loss at Rutgers in the season opener on Nov. 14, the Red Foxes have now lost four of their last six season openers.

THERE WILL BE CHANGES: Entering this season, the Marist roster consists of players who have started just 45 games in a Marist uniform in their careers. Red-shirt junior point guard David Devezin made 31 appearances in the opening lineup last season, and red-shirt sophomore guard Dejuan Goodwin added 14 starts last year. No one on the current Marist roster has started a game for the Red Foxes prior to last year. Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider entered the season with 15 career starts, all coming at the University of Vermont in the 2005-06 season.

RECORD-SETTING SCHEDULE: Marist will play 31 regular-season games this season, eclipsing the program record of 30 set each of the previous two seasons.

FOUR YEARS, FOUR COACHES: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider has played for four different coaches in his Division I career (Tom Brennan, Vermont; 2004-05; Mike Lonergan, Vermont; 2005-06; Matt Brady, Marist, 2007-08; Chuck Martin, Marist, 2008-09). Counting their junior college days, red-shirt junior guards David Devezin and Javon Parris have also played for four coaches in the last four years.

A RARE HOLDOVER: Red-shirt senior guard Kaylen Gregory, one of six returners for the Red Foxes this season, is the only member of the team who was in uniform in the 2006-07 season. Of the other five returners, red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider served his year in residency in 2006-07, and red-shirt sophomores Dejuan Goodwin and Lawrence Williams both sat out that season. Red-shirt junior point guard David Devezin and sophomore forward Korey Bauer both joined the program for the 2007-08 season.

WHAT'S NEW: The Red Foxes have an abundance of new faces for the 2008-09 season. Head Coach Chuck Martin was hired on April 17, 2008 as the program's sixth head coach in its Division I history. Marist also has an entirely new coaching staff, consisting of assistants Paul Lee, Tyrone Weeks, Bashir Mason and director of men's basketball operations Will Lanier. The Red Foxes also have eight newcomers this season (Dorvell Carter, Pat McDerby, Daye Kaba, R.J. Hall, Alex Vouyoukas, Nick Amicucci, Mike Taylor and Javon Parris).

LOTS TO REPLACE: The 10 players the Red Foxes lost from their 2007-08 team combined for 70 percent of the team's points, 66 percent of the team's rebounds, 71 percent of the team's three-pointers made, 72 percent of the team's starts and 65 percent of the minutes played last season.

ONLY NEW FACE IN THE MAAC: Head Coach Chuck Martin is the lone newcomer among MAAC head coaches this season.

AN EXPERIENCED STAFF: New Head Coach Chuck Martin has assembled a coaching staff with considerable experience. The entire staff (assistant coaches Paul Lee, Tyrone Weeks and Bashir Mason and director of operations Will Lanier) has combined for three apperances in national championship games, four appearances in the Final Four, 40 seasons of Division I coaching experience, positions at 11 different Division I institutions and 14 years of Division I playing experience.

MAAC PROJECTIONS: The Red Foxes were picked to finish last among the MAAC's 10 team in the conference's preseason poll. Red-shirt junior point guard David Devezin was named Preseason Third Team All-MAAC.

MEDIA MAN: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider spent this past summer interning at WFAN (660 AM) in New York City. Schneider has also gained broadcasting experience through Marist's campus radio station (WMAR), where he hosts a sports-talk show and has called women's basketball games. He has provided color analysis for Marist women's basketball broadcasts at the MAAC Tournament each of the last two seasons. This season, Schneider is serving as a sideline reporter on select broadcasts of Marist women's television broadcasts on Time Warner Cable 6.

GETTING EXPOSURE: Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider was featured in a New York Times story written by Brian Heyman on Jan. 16 which discussed his basketball and broadcasting. Schneider's call of the Marist women's basketball game against Fairfield on Jan. 23 for WMAR was picked up by ESPNU as part of its "Campus Connection" week.

RED FOXES ON THE AIRWAVES: All Marist games will broadcast on WKIP (1450 AM) in Poughkeepsie and streamed live on GoRedFoxes.com through Stretch Internet. Ed Weir is in his 31st season of broadcasting Marist athletics, and Dean Darling is in his 26th season with the Red Foxes. Nine games will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable 6, with Darling and former Red Fox Steve Eggink on the call. The Red Foxes had both of their games in the Holiday Festival televised by MSG. Marist's game against Canisius on Jan. 23 was televised by ESPNU, its game against Manhattan on Feb. 2 aired on MSG Plus, and its contest on Feb. 16 at Saint Peter's will be on MSG.
