Box Score

Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College baseball team earned a 5-3 win over visiting New York Tech this afternoon on the McCann Baseball Field. With the win the Red Foxes improve to 26-13-1 overall, while Tech falls to 10-23.

Pete Fuller (Plymouth, NY) picked up his first win as a Red Fox, as he tossed 2.0 innings of shutout, one hit baseball, striking out one and walking none. Fuller relieved starter Ryan Kondratowicz (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), who went 3.0 innings, striking out two and allowing only two hits. Chris Homer (Jamesville, NY) picked up his team leading seventh save, as he struck out two in pitching a perfect ninth inning. Six Red Fox hurlers allowed just two earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out six and walking only one.

Marist got on the board in the fourth innings, started by a one-out double from Andy Kiriakedes (Greater Barrington, MA). Tim Allen (Wappingers Falls, NY) followed with a walk, and the duo would score on three consecutive singles from the next three batters. The Red Foxes added a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to take a 5-0 lead. NYIT would score twice in the seventh and once in the eight to make it 5-3.

The Red Foxes left nine runners on base, while NYIT stranded five, thanks in part to a pair of Marist double plays.

Kiriakedes was 3-5 with a run scored, while Mike Sidoti (Staten Island, NY), John McGorty (West Sayville, NY), Jimmy Board (Ambler, PA) and Eric Johnson (Park Forest, IL) all had RBI for the Red Foxes. Sidoti, Board and Johnson all had two hits in the game, as did Keith Brachold (Attleboro, MA).

The Red Foxes will return to action on Saturday, May 3rd, when they host Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) front-runner, LeMoyne in a noon double-header. The three game set will conclude on Sunday, with a pre-game senior ceremony, also at noon.
