Final Stats

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-The Rider baseball team got three innings of shutout pitching from its bullpen Monday in addition to three runs in the eighth inning to down Marist 5-3 Monday afternoon at the McCann Baseball Field. Rider improved to 8-16 overall and 5-4 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, while the Red Foxes dipped to 7-17 overall and 4-5 in the league.

Rider reliever Erik Holck (2-1) picked up his second win of the season, tossing an inning, with two hits allowed and two strikeouts. Marist reliever Peter Barone (1-1) suffered his first loss of the season, throwing 2.1 innings and allowing two earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts.

Rider got a 3-for-4 effort from third baseman Sean Olson (two doubles), who also scored a pair of runs to power the offensive attack.

Marist junior catcher Keith Glasser (Rensselaer, N.Y.) led the way for Marist, going 2-for-3 at the plate.

The Red Foxes will be back in action Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the McCann Baseball Field with a doubleheader against Albany. Both games will be seven innings.
