POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-Marist Director of Athletics Tim Murray announced Tuesday that Craig White has been hired as the department's head Strength and Conditioning Coach. In that role, White will organize and implement training programs for each of the Red Foxes 23 Varsity sports. White will also serve as the Fitness Center Coordinator, with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the 20,000 square foot facility.
White comes to Marist after serving as an assistant at Springfield College for two years. At Springfield, White served as assistant strength coach for 16 teams and coordinated all weight training and agility training sessions throughout the school year for men's and women's basketball, field hockey and wrestling as a graduate associate.
During the summers of 2003 and 2005, White also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Georgia Tech. In Atlanta, he assisted strength coaches in administering weight training and agility sessions for football, women's basketball and cheerleading.
White, who is certified in adult CPR, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is also a member of USA Weightlifting and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
