Marist Dance Team

The Marist Dance Team actively participates in the Marist community, dancing at all football and men's and women's basketball home games. Each year the team performs a routine at half-time of football games, as well as performing during timeouts and at half-time of both the men's and women's basketball games.

The dance team travels with the men's and women's basketball teams to the MAAC tournament at the end of each season. The team also supports the Red Foxes at the NCAA tournament if either the men's or women's Basketball teams earn a bid. Members of the dance team accompanied the women's basketball team to the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament in Stanford, California and also made the trip to the Sweet 16 in Dayton, Ohio in March of 2007.

Each summer, the Marist Dance Team attends the UDA summer camp. The team has captured numerous awards over the years including trophies for high scores based on individual performances, as well as a trophy for the Most Improved Team. The dance team continuously looks forward to competing in local competitions throughout the year.

Auditions

Auditions for the team take place during both the fall and spring semesters. These auditions consist of warm-ups, learning a routine and then performing the learned routine two at a time before the captains. Those who audition for dance team should have prior experience dancing and with the basics of turning, leaps, and overall technique.
